The Secret of Photography
Landscape & Still Life
May 1 to July 4, 2004
Altes Rathaus
Ingelheim am Rhein
After the successful exhibition devoted in 2003 to the human image in 20th century photography, the Internationale Tage Ingelheim was expanding on the subject of photography with the complementary sequel: ‚Landscape‘ and ‚Still Life‘. The exhibition has shown a selection of nearly 120 outstanding works by more than 50 renowned international photographers from the 19th and late 20th centuries.
The focus was set on two periods: the pioneers of photography in the 19th century up to the years prior to the 1st World War, and the period following the triumphant emergence of digital photography in the late 1990s.
Lenders have been museums, galleries and private collections in Europe and the USA.
